The 5th CMPA Congress
The Congress theme – Maritime Transportation and Pilotage: Timeless Value in Changing Times – is meant to appeal to a wide audience in the maritime community by providing for an exploration of the enduring value proposition of Canadian maritime transportation, including pilotage, in a world of ever-growing change.
Message from the Chairs
Dear friends and colleagues,
The 5th Triennial CMPA Congress will take place from 14 to 17 February 2017 in Montreal. This choice is deliberate: safe and efficient navigation continues in most Canadian pilotage waters throughout winter and the Congress will explore, among other things, a number of key considerations related to winter navigation.
The first 4 editions of the Congress have provided good opportunities for maritime stakeholders to better understand not only the unique challenges that each of us face but also our deep interdependence. This naturally brings us to this year's theme: Maritime transport and pilotage: timeless value in changing times - which aims to further explore this interdependence as well as the added value of the Canadian marine transportation sector, including pilotage, in a world that changes ever more rapidly.
We hope that pilots, government policy makers and industry leaders from across the country will attend the event and, by their very presence, contribute to its success. A substantial program, along with entertaining social events, has been prepared for you and your spouse; in February 2017, come tame the winter with us in Montreal!
